Because the Constitution says the right to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS shall NOT be INFRINGED.

Do you have to obtain a license in NYC for "Free Speech?"
Do you have to obtain a license to retain the right to a Jury Trial should you be charged with a crime?
Do you have to obtain a license prevent the Gov't form torturing you?

No!

The Court can't put a stop to NYC's subversion of the Constitution fast enough!
